Term: CWC

Condition-Wash-Condition. This is a type of wet wash cleansing popular in the long hair and naturally textured communities.

Although the actual CWC process changes according to the individual and their hair type, texture and condition, the basic concept is to first apply a conditioner to wet strands. The conditioner is rinsed from the hair before a cleaner or diluted cleanser is applied.

Finally, the cleanser is rinsed from the hair and a rinse-out conditioner is applied.

The hair is detangled while the rinse-out conditioner is on the hair. After detangling, the hair is rinsed and finished with a cool/cold water rinse to close the cuticles.

There are many optional modifications to the CWC technique including oiling hair before it's washed or apply a conditioning cocktail treatment after the hair is towel blotted to remove excess water.
