Introduction
MC Hammer was born Stanley Kirk Burrell on March 30, 1962 in Oakland, California. An Aries, MC is a great entertainer, talent and all around great guy. The MC in MC Hammer stands for emcee. Hammer rose to fame in the late 1980 for his rapping and success in the hip hop music world. Hammer became a preacher in the 19902 and has moved into the world of television as a show host and CEO, performing for various concerts and function. Throughout his career Hammer had run his own label, Oaktown Records. Hammer and his wife Stephanie have six children, three boys and three girls. From 1972 until 1980 the ambitious Hammer served as a batboy with the Oakland Athletics under the watchful eye of team owner Charlie Finley. MC was Charlie's eyes and ears. Supposedly baseball great Reggie Jackson claims naming rights for Hammer. Reggie has said he nicknamed Stanley as "Hammer" because he looked like [Hammerin'] Hank Aaron. According to Hammer: Charlie said "I'm getting you a new hat. I don't want you to have a hat that says "A"s on it. I'm getting you a hat that says "Ex VP", that says 'Executive Vice President.' You're running the joint around here" Hammer wanted to be a professional baseball player, but he did not catch on in any professional organization. He joined the Navy where he served with Patron Forty Seven as a Petty Officer Third Class. After his honorable discharge he began performing music in clubs and started his own record label, Bust It. Hammer's debut album, Feel My Power was produced between 1986 and 1988 to be released independently in 1987 on his Oaktown Records label. It was produced by VEH (of Con Funk Shun) and sold over 60,000 copies. In the spring of 1988, a DJ played the track "Let's Get It Started" a song in which he declared he was "...second to none, from Doug E. Fresh, Cool LL, or DJ Run - after which the track began to gain popularity in clubs. Hammer received several offers from major record labels after the successful release of the independent album.
Summary
This style looks stunning with either a strapless gown to show off your shoulders or a full or half halter top gown, as shown above. The messy updo can be worn tighter or looser and can be carefully pinned or pinned with a messier attitude. Just use your own imagination. This style is perfect for all special Holiday, Prom and Party Hair events. This basic messy updo can be easily modified by adding a front braid, by pulling the base of the updo to the side, making the base higher or lower. Experiment with a number of different options to create the same basic messy do but always changing it up a bit for each different event or fashion.
