Banishing Bad Hair Days since 1997!™

Meet Riccardo Maggiore! Submitted

Introduction

In an industry where hair experts are forced to specialize in either style or color, Riccardo Maggiore bucks the trend and offers his clients skilled expertise and creative vision in both fields.

Born and raised in Catania, Sicily, Riccardo Maggiore began styling at the early age of fourteen. At fifteen, he moved north to Milan in pursuit of a career in the high-profile fashion industry. Training in Milan’s most fashionable salons by day, and attending the prestigious Centro Style Moda School by night, Riccardo honed his craft and quickly gained a steady client list and a reputation as a skilled young artist.

Noted for his precise, versatile cuts and fashion-forward styling, Riccardo was soon invited to style at various fashion shows, including Laura Biagiotti, Missoni, and Armani. Over the next few years, Riccardo became a styling instructor, won a number of awards, and worked with industry legends including Vidal Sassoon, Louis Longueras, and Aldo Coppola. During this time, Riccardo was encouraged to bring his talent to America.

Once in New York, Riccardo quickly established himself as an artist and worked at some of the most prestigious salons in midtown Manhattan. Again, his ingenuity led to runway jobs for Escada, Bill Blass, and Geoffrey Beene, as well as advertising and editorial work. In 1995, after years of dedication, creativity, and superior styling, Riccardo opened his own full-service Manhattan salon. In Italy, it is common for stylists to excel in both cut and color, and so in an attempt to consummate his role as a “hair connoisseur”, Riccardo returned to school to master the art of color.

Believing that individuals’ looks should suit their lifestyle, Riccardo spends time with each client to understand their daily lives and styling needs. Riccardo also takes into consideration his clients’ physical attributes and thus tailors his styles to accentuate their inherent beauty. Located at 18 West 56th St. in Manhattan, the Riccardo Maggiore Salon offers clients the level of service Riccardo desires, in a spacious and relaxed atmosphere.

In addition to acting as manager, stylist, and colorist at the Riccardo Maggiore Salon, Riccardo has offered his time and services in various philanthropic ventures, including the American Cancer Society, A Wish and a Smile fundraiser for St. Jude’s Hospital, and The Leukemia Society.
