IntroductionMuse is inspired by the modern integration of world cultures, globalization and the reality of a borderless world. Muse use sCurl and Shape, taking the textures from particular periods and mixing them with shapes of a different time creating a new moment, Now! Textures from particular periods - the romantic, structured waves of the 40's, the often rebellious 50s quiffs, and the freestyle curls of the 80s - are mixed with shapes through time to create this modern-day Muse. A particular fascination with the relationship between light, shape, and shadow is once again present and adds to the reflection of a thought, a feeling, a rebellion. In effect Muse rebels against that original rebellious New Romantics period of the early 80's presenting a collection that is beautiful, inspiring and timeless. MUSEA modern day muse, she is the hero of the collection. Inspired by the romantic, structured waves and curls of the 1940s, the shape transcends the borders of time, culture and style.
She captures the elegance of a bygone era fused with a sultriness of modern-day. After an application of TIGI Catwalk Extra Strong Mousse, the hair was tonged with a ¾ inch barrel tong, before being brushed out and molded into the classic wave. Finished with a spritz of TIGI Catwalk Work It Hairspray. ALEXISRevisit the set of cult 80s hit, Dynasty, and you’ll find the inspiration for Alexis. Feminine and sexy, there is a care-free, yet structured movement to this shape; softness but strength around the face. The hair was tonged with a larger barrel and then brushed out. Using a wide-tooth comb and dryer, the width and height at the front hairline was accentuated, creating the ultimate flick. TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Thickening Gel was applied before drying, and the hair was finished with TIGI Your Highness Hard Hold Hairspray and Shine Spray. GEO-QUIFFTaking inspiration from the classic quiff, we have instilled a rebellious feel and strength by blending geometric lines with a slight curl. TIGI BedHead Queen for a day was used to prep the hair, before blow-drying the hair into the quiff shape. The look was finished with TIGI Bed Head Hard To Get Paste and a light spritz of TIGI Bed Head Head Rush Shine Spray. COMBO CURVECurve is the true meshing of technique, texture and balance, inspired by modern day with 80s braids. The hair was braided and pinned behind the head. Hairpieces in multiple colors were used to build a shape on the crown, using a crimped texture. Additional extensions were then attached before cutting into a deep fringe. These multiple extensions were held in place with a braided focal piece. Key products used were TIGI Catwalk Camera Ready Spray and TIGI Catwalk Work It Spray. TEXTURED MUSEA beautiful variation of Muse, yet this time infusing the style with the strong influence of mid ‘80s curl, yet with a rougher, more modern texture to give the style a lived-in feel. The hair was set with a medium roller, then molded and brushed to give a roughed-up finish. A combination of TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Root Boost Spray and Thickening Gel was used to set & style. The style was finished with a misting of TIGI Your Highness Hard Hold Hairspray DREAM GIRLThe ultimate Muse shape, Dream Girl draws inspiration from Demi Moore’s short crop from the late 1980s, yet working with the model’s natural texture to give it the Muse twist. The hair was undercut from the drop zone down, leaving the top longer. It was then finger dried allowing the natural curl to open up and take its own shape. Before finger drying, a combination of TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Booster and TIGI Curl Amplifier were used, before finishing with TIGI Catwalk Curls Rock Hairspray and TIGI Camera Ready Shine Spray.
