IntroductionIf you don't have a mane of luxurious locks, don't despair, it's possible to create long lush hairstyles worthy of any special occasion regardless of your own hair type, texture, condition and length. When hair is lush, full and volume infused it provides a beautiful frame for any face. When styled sleekly, it create a shimmering halo of shine. Volume can be incorporated into any hair length and enhanced with a fringe if desired. Big voluminous hair never really goes out of style. It was wildly popular in the 60s, 80s and not it's catching on for the present. Some hair experts are predicting that it will continue to be popular for 2012. Adele scored big at the VMAs with a big bold, retro hairstyle. Uma Thurman has also showcased big hair on recent Red Carpets and Zoey Deschanel charms with her big clouds of raven black strands. Of course with the death of superstar Elizabeth Taylor, big hair like hers has been created with hot rollers, which are more popular then ever. Hair How ToFollow the steps below to re-create this volume infused hairstyle: 1. Cleanse detangled hair in lukewarm water with desired cleansing regime ranging from full strength shampoo to diluted shampoo (DS), conditioner only wash (CoWash), water only (WO) or low poo. Select products designed for your hair type and texture. 2. Rinse hair well to remove shampoo or other cleansing product. 3. Apply a leave-in conditioner from the top of the ears to the ends.4. Separate hair into individual 2" horizontal sections and detangle from the ends to the roots with a wide tooth comb or fingers. 5. After entire head has been detangled rinse well with lukewarm water. Finish with a cool or cold water rinse. 6. Towel blot to remove excess moisture. 7. Apply leave-in styling cocktail including, but not limited to, leave-in conditioner, defrisant, and styling mousse. 8. Add a root lifting spray to the roots, massage into the hair and comb through. 9. Take small 1 1/2" sections of hair and wrap around a small round ceramic brush. Over direct to give lift at the roots as you blow dry the sections. After each section is dried roll it around your fingers. Pin rolled hair to the scalp to allow the section to cool and set. 10. Repeat this process until the entire head has been dried and pinned to the scalp. 11. Once all of the curls have been allowed to set and cool, unpin them. 12. Lift each section up individually and tease at the root. Smooth the teased hair back down. 13. Style gently to maintain volume. 14. Finish with shine enhancing hairspray. SummaryHair volume never goes out of style and is becoming more popular then ever before. Besides celebrities showcasing big hair the return of hot rollers is encouraging big hair to rock like never before. The recent fashion runways have also showcased volume infused hairstyles which is an omen for upcoming hair trends. - Revised: 12/31/11 | |||||||||
