I have met so many amazing folks on Twitter and am constantly inspired by the HairBoutique followers (thank you to all of you wherever you are).
Twitter Can Be Addictive
Twitter can be very addictive so if you have an addictive personality, be warned. You may log on just to check your Twitter Direct Messages (DMs) and next thing you know two hours have flown by and you have been tweeting your heart out. Hmmm. Not such a good thing but definitely good for those foggy brain cells.
When I saw that Perez (he only needs one name these days) and Lily Allen were having a spat on Twitter I had to laugh about it and marvel how far Twitter has come in its popularity.
For those of you who don't yet know the details, Perez Hilton and Lily Allen took their ongoing feud to their respective Twitter pages yesterday. In the past Perez has called Lily Allen "washed up" and she has responded by calling Perez a "bully" who hates women.
Perez Posted To Lily Via Twitter
On his Twitter page yesterday, Perez posted that the pop star is casting the music video for her next single. He called upon his many followers to suggest him for a part in the video. Lily responded on her Twitter pages with "oh, I'm sorry, we've already cast the jealous and bitter lonely old queen role. Next time eh?"
Perez responded: "jealous of who? David Beckham, maybe. And if I wanted to be a f***ed up Brit, I'd rather be Amy Winehouse - whose got talent." Lily then claimed Perez was "obsessed" with her. She then called him a "douchebag" and "parasite". He responded by calling her "desperate" for reducing the price of her album to $3.99.
Perez added: "Aw, u can see I've lost weight! I am a littler Perez. But I'm still a big fat c*** - just like U! That's why I lova ya. Xoxo P.S. Thanks for advertising on my website. I'll take your money (or the label's) anytime!"
Allen concluded: "I know you will, and that's what makes you a cheap a** whore. Now leave me alone, stop following me, I'm working. Bye x x."
Are Twitter Spats Common?
Although no one has even been rude on even remotely unkind to me on Twitter, they do at times ignore my tweets. Of course getting ignored happens. It is actually rather common for everyone to be ignored on a regular basis. That's because the more followers you have or the more people you follow, the harder it can be at times to catch all the threads as they whiz by.
Having a spat like Perez and Lily? Not so common, but certainly not unexpected for a Web2.0 Superstar like Perez. In fact, I'm surprised it hasn't happened before. Maybe it has, but the media didn't catch it until now.
Lily Allen Ultimately Blocked Perez On Twitter
I have to say I'm surprised Lily Allen blocked Perez so that he could no longer post to her Twitter threads. If she wants media attention, what better way than to catch the attention of Perez Hilton?
No Such Thing As Bad Press - Even From Perez
Yes, he can say things which some celebrities don't like but at least he is talking about them. I'm not sure who said it but a common saying is "there's no bad press". I have to say I agree with the sentiment.
I can understand how some celebrities might be upset if Perez was writing comments they did not like, but hey, he's writing about them. A mention from Perez Hilton pops you into the top of the search engines. And how is that a bad thing? Yeah, if you were caught committing a major crime you might not want Perez writing about it but Perez is just doing his job.
Regardless of whether you love Perez or Lilly, are indifferent to them, or hate them, the Perez/Lily spat just goes to show how popular the world of Twitter is becoming.
What do you think about the Perez and Lily Allen Twitter spat? Do you love Twitter or not? I want to hear what you have to say on these or any topics.
