Banishing Bad Hair Days since 1997!™

TNT's Leverage Is Like Modern Mission Impossible

I've written about TNT's Leverage before.  Yes, I'm a fan.  But then I have also confessed to loving everything on TNT these days.  I adore The Closer, I hang onto the edge of my seat when Saving Grace is on and I adore Leverage.

One of the tag lines for Leverage is....Lying, Cheating Stealing...if you're doing it to help someone, is it really bad?

(The Leverage cast consists of  (L-R) Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Timothy Hutton, Aldis Hodge and Beth Riesgraf.)

Sadly, this week's episode was the last for the season.  It was brilliant.

The Leverage team, which goes on these absolutely crazy missions, a lot like the old Mission Impossible Team, decides to take on Ian Blackpoole, the CEO of the company who denied medical treatment for Nate's son and allowed him to die, destroying Nate's soul in the process.

It also reunited Nathan (played magnificently by Timothy Hutton) with his ex-wife played by veteran actress Kari Matchett.

You know a series is great when you can't decide which character you like best.  I used to think I liked the in-you-face Parker played brilliantly by Beth Riesgraf.  Then I decided I really liked Timothy Hutton as the leader of the rag tag team.  But no, I couldn't believe how hot Christian Kane is and then there's the smooth acting style of Gina Bellman, and the funny Aldis Hodge.

According to the cast, the group has a great chemistry together and Timothy has said each of the characters are a lot like the characters they play.

Actually, when I like all the characters and the actors portraying them in a series, it makes the entire show immensely enjoyable.  Which Leverage is.  I don't know if its a take-off of the old Mission Impossible or not but I have to say I loved that show as well.  If you loved that show, you will definitely love Leverage.

The good news?  The series has been renewed by TNT and will be back.  The bad news?  It won't be in the near future.  But you know what?  It's definitely worth waiting for.
