The Miss America's Outstanding Teen Organization announced today that Jasmine Murray, Miss Mississippi's Outstanding Teen 2007, made it into the Top 13 on American Idol. Murray was one of four contestants chosen by the judges during Thursday night's Wild Card competition.

Murray was a top 10 finalist at Miss America's Outstanding Teen and has received recognition for her outstanding community service with the U.S. Dream Academy. She was also a special guest performer at Miss America 2008.
Miss America's Outstanding Teen, the "little sister" to the Miss America Organization, is a scholarship-based program offering accomplished teens the opportunity to be awarded funds for college.
The program promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America's teens. In the past four years, the organization has made available more than $3 million in college scholarships.
"We are so incredibly proud of Jasmine," said Kim Parrish, president of MAOT. "We wish her the absolute best as she strives to accomplish her goal of becoming the next American Idol." Jasmine will continue on in the competition which can be seen nationally on FOX on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 8/7 Central.
