Actress Natalie Zea's Big Fat Natural Curly Hair

If you were a fan of ABC's Dirty Sexy Money, which sadly got pulled from the schedule, you remember the character of Karen, a poor little rich girl who constantly stirred up her share of trouble.  Karen was played by the gorgeous actress, Natalie Zea who was born March 17, 1975 in Harris County (Houston), Texas.

The lovely actress was born with naturally curly hair but almost always wears it either bone straight or just slightly wavy.  You might not even believe she had natural curls if she didn't sometimes mention it in interviews with the media.

Big Fat Curly Mess Tamed With Straightening Iron

Natalie confided to Complete Woman (October/November 2008) about her curls "I let it air-dry naturally so it's a big fat curly mess, and then I take a straightening iron to it.  I try to stay away from the blow dryer."

Curly Versus Straight Hair

When asked if she prefers straight or curly hair the beautiful honey hued actress said "I'm lucky because I have the best of both worlds.  I can wear it really curly and when I want to straighten it, that's possible too.  And it holds curl really well, because of the natural curl."

Naturally Curly Hair Styling Secrets

When Natalie was asked how she deals with her curly hair she said "I try to interfere with my hair as little as possible.  One the Dirty Sexy Money show they barely used any product.  We just try to keep it as clean as possible because I don't want to wash my hair every day.  It gets dirty easily so I just try to leave it alone."

Texas Born And Raised

Although born in Houston, Natalie was raised in Monahans, Texas and ultimately went off to study at The American Music and Dramatic Academy in New York 1993, where she successfully graduated.  From roles in off-Broadway productions of The Three Sisters an A Midsummer Night's Dream she made her debut in a very small role (Lana Tisdel) in a short independent film version of Boys Don't Cry.  Later she actually appeared in an uncredited role of the 1999 Oscar-winning film based on the true-life story.  Actress Hilary Swank won the Oscar for that role.

NBC's Passions

Natalie continued to pursue her acting career appearing in other indie films such as Macbeth in Manhattan and Lucid Days in Hells.  Her role in the short-lived WB drama, D.C. in 2000 was followed by a role as Gwen Hotchkiss on NBC's Passions.  Natalie was the replacement actress for Liza Huber who originated the part of Gwen.

Ironically, two years later in 2002 when Natalie left the soap, Liza Huber returned to pick up the role.

Natalie has guest-starred on several primetime roles including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2001), MDs (2002), Two and a Half Men (2005), as well as the recurring role of Lauren Riley on FX's The Shield in 2004. Other guest spots included appearances on Just Legal, Freddie and Without a Trace in 2006.

Trish Agermeyer On ABC Eyes

In 2005, she landed the role of surveillance technician Trish Agermeyer on the ABC mystery series "Eyes". The show went into temporary hiatus, and Natalie Zea returned to the role when it reappeared in 2007. That same year, she joined a cast which includes Donald Sutherland, Peter Krause and William Baldwin on the ABC series Dirty Sexy Money in which she co-stars as the Darling's thrice-divorced daughter, Karen.

Natalie returned to the big screen early in 2008 in the thriller From a Place of Darkness with former Passions co-star Travis Schuldt.

Bad News For Dirty Sexy - Good News For Eyes

Although it does appear that Dirty Sexy Money will not be brought back to the ABC line-up, DirecTV just announced (via Variety) a deal with Warner Bros. TV that will bring back Natalie and the rest of the "Eyes" cast to the satellite provider's 101 Network.

However, it's not just the opportunity to catch what you might have missed in the original "Eyes" series. The network says that the series will air commercial-free, in high-def, and -- wait for it -- with never-before-seen episodes for all.

"Eyes" which was a one-hour detective drama had the team of actors at a P.I. firm that used high-tech gadgets and very little law-abiding means to make clients' problems go away. The show also starred Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, A.J. Langer, Laura Leighton, Eric Mabius and Rick Worthy.

Be sure to catch Natalie in the DirectTV release of "Eyes" and keep an eye out for this gorgeous naturally curly hair beauty.
