'CELEBRITY' Is Broadcast Television's #1 Program In Primetime Monday Night Among Adults 18-34
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 2, 2009 - Last night's premiere of NBC's "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" has led the network to a tie for the nightlong win in adults 18-49 and an outright victory for the night among adults 18-34, according to official national "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research. It's the third consecutive night NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 in adults 18-49.
From 8-10 p.m. ET, "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" debuted with a 2.6 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall.
"I'm a Celebrity" jumped 44 percent above NBC's 18-49 average in this time period during the May sweep (2.6 vs. 1.8) and was up 18 percent versus the network's total-viewer average in the slot during May (6.4 million vs. 5.5 million).
"I'm a Celebrity" beat ABC's "Bachelorette" head-to-head in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, all key adult-male demos and total viewers.
From its first half-hour to its fourth, "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" increased its 18-49 rating by 36 percent (to a 3.0 rating from a 2.2, its adult 18-34 rating by 50 percent (2.7 vs. 1.8) and its men 18-34 rating by 100 percent (2.4 vs. 1.2).
"I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" was the night's #1 prime time telecast on the broadcast networks in adults 18-34 and men 18-34.
