The PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award will be presented to O'Dell at the 20th annual North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA 20) on Sunday, July 19, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award was established by PBA to honor a public figure who exemplifies beauty, both on the inside and out.

O'Dell, who is the Co-Anchor of Access Hollywood, the nationally syndicated entertainment news program,

works to raise both awareness and funds for such charities as the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), March of Dimes, Child Help, Best Buddies and the American Red Cross.

"It is an honor to be selected as the very first recipient of the PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award. While I am a

huge fan of the many wonderful products and beauty professionals which are such an instrumental part of my

profession, I know true beauty comes from within, and I am humbled by this honor which will help me continue

to raise awareness for the many causes of which I blessed to be a part," states O'Dell.

The PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award was established in 2009 to further promote the idea that beauty is not

just skin deep. While the professional beauty industry aims to help people look and feel their best, the industry

understands that looking and feeling great is only a portion of what it takes to achieve happiness.

The PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award will be bestowed on public figures that represent the essence of beauty in

society, but who more importantly have a long standing involvement and commitment to multiple charitable

organizations. Nancy O'Dell's principal charitable involvements include:

-National ALS Ambassador and a National Vice President - Muscular Dystrophy Association/mda.org: Committed

to conquering neuromuscular diseases

-National Spokesperson - March of Dimes/marchofdimes.com: Dedicated to improving the health of babies

-USA Ambassador - Childhelp/childhelp.org: Devoted to ending child abuse

-International Board Member - Best Buddies/bestbuddies.org: Enhancing the lives of those with mental disabilities

-Celebrity Cabinet Member - American Red Cross/redcross.org: Providing humanitarian assistance

As the premier beauty competition in North America, NAHA not only celebrates the best of the best in the

professional beauty industry, but is also a perfect venue for recognizing key people who have contributed

substantially to the industry and society as a whole.

NAHA will take place tonight (Sunday, July 19) and will kick off with a Red Carpet Reception at 6:30pm, followed by a star-studded Awards Ceremony at 8:00pm.

The theme for NAHA 20 "Honoring the Work. Stories. Style!," will tell the stories and celebrate the style of many

professionals throughout the years who have contributed to the success of the industry.

Daily Hair Tip
For a low maintenance style, try to work with your natural hair type rather than against it. For example, if your hair is naturally wavy, select a hairstyle that works easily with the waves.
