Celeb Hairdresser Ted Gibson Takes Over Hair On What Not To Wear

Friday July 24th marks a new dawn for the long time makeover show "What Not to Wear" which takes everyday women and sometimes men and helps them spiff up their image with new clothes, hairstyle and makeup.

WWD has let the word slip that Celeb Hairdresser Nick Arrojo is out and Ted Gibson is in.  The reason for the switch was to keep the long running show fresh and inventive.  It makes perfect sense to me because each hairdresser has a very different style of doing hair but of course it can't be a great thing for Nick who has been with the show for a long time.

The rest of the show's cast is remaining...at least for now.  Stacey and Clinton will continue to perform their amazing transformations and Carmindy will provide the cosmetic polish she is famous for.  Meanwhile Ted will do his hair magic.  Although Nick is famous for his affinity for cutting hair short, Ted is more famous for haircuts and hairstyles which are lush and lovely.

Don't be surprised if Ted doesn't pop on clip-in extensions or even go for a fusion version.  Afterall, Ted is known for his gorgeous hairstyles on longer hair.   Ted has made his name as a celebrity hairdresser working with the likes of Anne Hathaway, Angelina and others.

Recently Ted opened a spectacular new salon in the Washington, DC area just in time for the president's Inauguration.

More About Ted Gibson

Ted Gibson's amazing hair work can be seen on the runways of Prada, Chanel and Dolce and Gabana, as well as on the most recognized faces in the world such as Angelina Jolie, Renee Zellweger, Demi Moore, Gabrielle Union, Kiera Knightly and Joy Bryant, to name a few.  The Texas born hairdresser is also famous for his price tag which can start at the $900 mark.

If you want to see what Ted does with the next batch of makeover candidates tune in on Friday, July 24th.

Daily Hair Tip
Split ends are a separation of the hair shaft that exposes hair's fragile inner layers. The only real cure for split ends is to have them trimmed.
