TAG Heuer Gives Tiger Woods More Time

In a recent statement to UsMagazine.com, TAG Heuer President and CEO Jean-Christoph Babin has said Tiger Woods will continue on as one of their brand ambassadors for their prestigious line of watches.

Babin has said "the partnership with Tiger Woods will continue."  Tiger signed on with TAG Heuer in 2002.

Originally there were reports that Tiger had been dropped due to all the recent adultery scandals.

CEO Jean-Christoph Babin has told the media Tiger will continue with some temporary modifications.  Babin has said "we will downscale the use of his image in certain markets for a period of time, depending on his decision about returning to professional golf."  Tiger, 33, is currently on complete hiatus from his golf career.

The decision to "downscale" was made out of "respect" for Woods' "privacy" at this time. "We will continue to actively support the Tiger Woods Foundation," Babin explained.  The CEO also noted that the relationship with Tiger "has always been extremely professional and productive."

Global consulting firm Accenture did not agree with TAG Heuer's opinion.  The company announced Dec. 13 that it was cutting all ties with the golfer, noting that he was "no longer the right representative" after the "circumstances of the last two weeks." Woods served as an Accenture pitchman for the last six years, appearing in the company's "Go ahead, be a Tiger" ad campaign.

Tiger also still has the solid support of Nike. The athletic shoe company's chairman and co-founder Phil Knight recently said Woods' affairs were "a minor blip."
