Brittany Murphy's Shocking Death

I was especially shocked when I heard the news of the sudden death today of actress Brittany Murphy.  I had just written an article about her hair and the new uptick in her career.

Although I never met the actress who was only 32 years old I felt like I knew her from hearing great things from her celebrity hairdresser Ken Paves and her stylist Jessica Pasteur.   From their reports she was sweet, funny and had a big heart.  Ken introduced Brittany to his "girls" including Jessica Simpson.

Of course I saw Brittany on Ellen Degeneres and they appeared to have a lot of fun together.  Ellen gave Brittany a hard time for saying she was speaking full sentences at an unbelievably early age.

The final cause of Brittany's death has not been determined.   Ed Winter, The Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner, said that the cause of her death "appears to be natural."

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center spokeswoman Sally Stewart said Murphy died at 10:04 a.m. PT. She did not disclose a cause of death or any other details.

Brittany reportedly collapsed in the bathroom Sunday morning.  Authorities are looking into her medical history.  An autopsy is planned for Monday or Tuesday, he said.

Celebrity website TMZ broke the news that someone at a home listed as belonging to Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, dialled 911 at 8 a.m.   TMZ said Murphy was discovered in the shower and had reportedly died of cardiac arrest.

Murphy, whose breakout role was in 1995's Clueless, has appeared in numerous films including Girl, Interrupted; Don't Say a Word; and opposite rapper Eminem in 8 Mile.

Brittany married British screenwriter and producer Monjack in 2007.

Daily Hair Tip
For a low maintenance style, try to work with your natural hair type rather than against it. For example, if your hair is naturally wavy, select a hairstyle that works easily with the waves.
