This product, which is no longer available, is all-natural and is designed to keep frizz at bay without being sticky, stiff, or gooey. Although it was described as a hair jelly, it was more like a gel than anything else.
The product was often recommended for people with naturally curly hair, falling into the 3C, 4A, or 4B categories. It does not work for all people all of the time.
Mandarin Magic Ginkgo Leaf & Ginseng Root Hair Moisturizing Jelly.
Eight hair-nourishing Chinese herbals, plus hair-thickening vitamin B-5 and herbal gums, added up to one superb styling product that moisturized as it held. It added body and shine without weighing down the hair.
After shampooing, dry hair until damp. Pour a quarter-sized dollop of hair-moisturizing jelly into the palm. Work through hair and into the scalp. Groom hair as usual. (Use more if needed for dry scalp or problem hair and scalp).
This product was attractive, especially to people with naturally curly hair who wish to go completely natural.
The beauty of Aubrey Organics Ginkgo Leaf & Ginseng Root Hair Moisturizing Jelly was that it was all natural. It did not contain any plastics, parabens, or silicones.
Some users found that while the product was useful for creating a light curl definition and shine, it was not as moisturizing as competitive products. If moisture was your concern, you probably needed to look at other similar products.
One common complaint about this product was that it did tend to flake after it dried.
This is a common problem for gels and jelly products. The aroma was fresh with a clean orange-like scent. It contained good hair slip.
This gel-like product was very light. Hair tended to dry smooth, not sticky. It also tended to create a wet look on the hair. If you wanted a fluffier look, this product was probably not viable for you.
One initial challenge was learning to use just a small amount. A little bit was often enough. Depending on the type, texture, length, and condition of your hair, a little bit definitely went a very long way.
Water, Panthenol (Vitamin B-5), Aloe Vera Gel, Tragacanth, and Gum Arabic Blend, Ginkgo Leaf, Ginseng Root, Chinese Magnolia Blossoms, Chinese Angelica, Chrysanthemum, Earth Smoke, Morus Root, Mandarin Orange Peel, Aubrey's Preservative (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C, and E).
This product was usually sold at various health food stores, but the best pricing was often found online. I used to find the best prices for this particular product at Amazon.com.
