Jessica Simpson Keeps Her Family In Denim
The songbird and reality TV star flew to New York with her current beau, former NFL player Eric Johnson by her side.
Once in The City, star admired her friends and sister on her casual catwalk on Tuesday, September 7th. Jessica's show was held before the official opening of Fashion Week.
Jessica continues to expand her fashion empire with her most recent denim line.
Her models were very near and dear to her heart and included her best friend and former assistant, Cacee Cobb, little sister Ashlee Sinpson-Wentz along with some of her other inner circle. Her mom Tina was on hand to greet people, her brother-in-law Pete Wentz was the DJ and Jessica's female publicist and hairdressers were also there to strut their stuff on her runway.
"For me, it's the rocker-edge kind of thing," summed up Simpson-Wentz, clad in a micro-mini, denim jacket and stilettos. Her sister, she said, takes her ever-growing clothing line "so seriously. It's so cute to watch her in meetings. She's turned into a businesswoman. She's into all the trends and always has been."
Simpson's event, held in her midtown New York showroom, celebrated the recent launch of her jeanswear collection and gave party-goers a peek at her spring collection which is more of the same. The cute denim dresses and knit tops include the piece de resistance which is a fitted camouflage jacket.
According to her sister, Jessica is great about following all the trends. She also wants to make sure her clothes make her customers happy. When it comes to her new jeans Jessica knows women want their butts or their thighs to look good.
Jessica told the media women want "a pair of jeans" which make their "butt look good" or they want their "thighs to look skinny." Jessica's answer to fitting the jeans to create a great looking butt or skinny thighs? She said "you always have to make sure they take in the knees." Afterall, she should know. She's been through so many of her own fittings.
Not to mention the fact Jess, as her friends call her, admits to owning 300 pairs of her own jeans. Although she doesn't wear them all, she has a lot because "it's something I always buy." She believes the secret to success with her line is that it makes people feel comfortable in her clothes, shoes and with her bags. Jess also wants to keep her line affordable so the clothes are accessible to everyone.
