Banishing Bad Hair Days since 1997!™

Sarah Steele Lets Her Natural Curls Shine In The Good Wife

In a previous blog I shared that one of my guilty pleasures is the film "Spanglish" which was released in 2004.

Although the critics panned it, I love the film and all the various actors including Sarah Jane Steele (born July 24, 1988) who plays Bernice, Sandler's awkward teen-aged daughter.

Sarah beat out thousands of young hopeful females to win the role.  She was fabulous as the lovable teen dealing with her mother's constant lack of approval due to her weight, frizzy curly hair and overall appearance.

Her mother, Deborah, played by Tea Leoni was blonde, beautiful, athletic and reed thin.  She also had long, bone straight tresses, which were always perfectly coiffed.

Much to her mother's disappointment Bernie physically and emotionally takes after her father, John who has bushy natural curls, full eyebrows and a healthy weight.  Sarah Steele was spectacular in the role.  Every time I see the movie I want to reach through the screen and give her a hug.

Showcasing Her Natural Curls On The Good Wife

After Spanglish I lost track of Sarah  until a recent episode of "The Good Wife" where she plays the outspoken daughter of Eli Gold (Alan Cumming).  It's been seven years since Sarah's turn as Bernice and it's amazing to see her transformation.

Even better, she's rocking her natural curls for her role as Gold's daughter, who tells it like it is.

Unfortunately Sarah has had limited on-screen time on The Good Wife, but hopefully the amazing producers, writers and directors of the show will realize they have a talented young actress they can utilize to spice up future episodes.

As Gold's daughter Sarah speaks her mind even though it obviously annoys and frustrates her normally unflappable father.

Sarah looks beautiful and it's very exciting to see her showcase her long brunette natural ringlets and spirals in her guest role on Wife.

More About Sarah Steele

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sarah's father, George, is a doctor specializing in nutrition and diet.  Steele graduated with the class of 2006 from The Episcopal Academy, a well-received private school in southeast Pennsylvania. She now attends Columbia University in the City of New York.

After her breakout role in Spanglish, the actress continued acting for a short while, appearing on an episode of Law & Order and appearing in two films, Mr. Gibb, which co-stars Hayden Panettiere, Tim Daly and Dan Hedaya and Margaret, which co-stars Matt Damon, Matthew Broderick, Anna Paquin, Mark Ruffalo, and Allison Janney.

Sarah was recently on the New York stage in an off-Broadway production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, which ran for a few months at the Acorn Theatre.

She acted in the new off-Broadway play Speech & Debate and as well as appearing on Gossip Girl as Jenny Humphrey's rival at Cotillion and Eric van der Woodsen's friend as Kira Abernathy.

Keep your eye out for this talented and sassy young actress.  She's a joy to watch.
