Teacher Cuts Beard After 10 Years

On the May 3rd edition of NBC's Today Show, Ann Curry reported that a personal celebration for a Washington State teacher who vowed on September 11, 2001 that he would not shave until Osama Bin Laden was found.

Gary Whittle kept his promise much to his wife's chagrin and over the next decade his beard grew 15 inches.  He said when he heard the news on Sunday night he burst into tears, cropped everything he was doing and grabbed his shaving cream."

The Today showed a before and after photo of Gary with and without his beard.  He looked very different.  Ann pointed out his wife was probably very happy to lose that beard.
