Hair Tails With Texture - How To

Airy texture is what this double hair tail style is all about.  It's simple and feminine, but can be amped up to look elegant and finished.  Or it can be teased until it looks a little bit wild with an exciting mixture of control and chaos.

Step By Step How-to Hair Tails:

This sassy hairstyle can be created on second day hair or on newly cleansed hair which has been prepped with a leave-in styling cocktail and blow dried straight.

Once hair is 100% dry follow the steps below:

1.  Create desired part (center, off-center or side) and brush all hair back towards the nape of the neck.  Optionally you may create a fringe or wear your strands brushed off your forehead along the hairline.

2.  Spray-dry hair with shine spray like Phyto's PhytoSpecific Extreme Shine Spray (available at HairBoutique.com's Marketplace) then flat-iron two-inch sections at a time.

3. Split hair down the middle into two equal sized pigtails and secure behind each ear with a hair friendly elastic, Blax or bungee in the same color as your hair.  If you prefer you can wrap a one-inch section of hair around the elastic and pin in place to cover the elastic, Bungee or Blax.

4.  Use a 100% boar bristle brush to backcomb each pigtail to desired fullness, fluffiness and airiness.  Use fingers to pull hair clumps apart for that cool, edgy, chic, unkempt, out partying all night 5 a.m. look.

Finish with a spritz of hairspray.  Add a headband wore low slung along the forehead as an interesting finish.
