Celeb hairstylist RaMona Fleetwood was the hair department head on the film set of "Judy Moody & the Not Bummer Summer" which was recently released to U.S. theaters (June 10th) across the country.
RaMona Fleetwood was also the on-set celeb hairstylist for actress Heather Graham who starred as Aunt Opal and the adorable Jordana Beatty who plays an energetic third grader who chronicles a crazy summer adventures with her artsy Aunt Opal.
RaMona shared her secrets and tips below for creating Heather's and Jordana's signature hairstyles in the film.
Heather Graham as "Aunt Opal"
1. RaMona began with clean dry hair and then sectioned Heather's tresses into half inch parts.
2. Next, she sprayed each piece with White Sands Liquid Texture Firm Hold Styling Spray to provide amazing shine, softness, and humidity resistance, while also creating long lasting curls.3. This product was then brushed through her hair in order to prep for a spiral wrap curling technique.
4. RaMona then took each 1/2" piece of hair and spiral wrapped her strands around a 1.25" curling iron in opposite directions: one section curled forward while the other curled backward.5. To finish Heather's gorgeous waves for the camera, RaMona set this style in place by using White Sands Infinity Hairspray for enhanced hold and shine.
Jordana Beatty as "Judy Moody"
"The curl at the top of Jordana's head was fabricated with Jordana's real hair. RaMona cut 8 inches off and then used a flower wire, which she painted dark red to match her hair color on the film.
RaMona would then wrapped Jordana's hair around the wire. RaMona Fleetwood revealed "the rest of Jordana's curl style was created with White Sands Liquid Texture Firm Hold Styling Spray. This was used to hold and maintain this wave during shooting."
