How To Hairstyle: Christina Aguilera's Wild Blonde Hairstyle In W Magazine

Christina Aguilera How To W Magazine Wild Blonde Hairstyle

Icy blonde Christina Aguilera has jumpstarted her career and worldwide popularity with her role on NBC's "The Voice."  The reality TV show ended last night by naming a winner from the four finalists (Javier Colon on Adam Levine's team). Although Christina's finalist did not win,  she was very supportive of all the finalists.

As a celebrity judge Christina has shown the world a kinder, gentler and serious side.  Her white blonde hair which is styled by celebrity hair star David Babaii has been coiffed into an array of amazing eye popping, mouth dropping updos, braids and long luscious strands.

In the age of pop queens such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, hair is constantly scaling to new heights of outrageous, stunning, eye popping and mouth dropping extremes.

Whereas big pop stars used to try and hide the fact they were wearing an array of lace front wigs, clip-in extensions and fusion hair, that is no longer the case.

Wigs Are Hot In The Pop Idol Universe

Everyone knows Rihanna and her celebrity hairstylist constantly create an array of new wigs to work in harmony with RiRi's latest costumes and fashions.  Lady Gaga changes wigs as often as her shoes.   When she tires of wigs she pops on bald caps or similar. Of course Katy Perry has worn just about every hue of wig possible from bright blue to raven black.

Although Christina doesn't publicly discuss her hair or whether she wears lace front wigs, extensions or clip-ins, industry insiders believe her never ending white white blonde tresses are not all 100% hers.  But seriously, who really cares?  If her hairstyles are eye catching and appropriate for her costumes and fashions then kudos to Christina for taking advantage of all the hair options available to her.

Dramatic Hairstyle In W Magazine

Christina is featured in the July 2011 W Magazine issue which is currently on newstands..  The piece titled "CHRISTINA finds her VOICE" features the pop diva with waist length crimped white blonde tresses flowing into a dramatic shape around her partially nude body.  The article was timed to come out at the same time The Voice was on the air.

Some of the images of Christina  in W Magazine are black and white which adds to the dramatic vision of her hair flowing around her body. Her hair for W was styled by famed celeb hairstylist Jimmy Paul and her makeup was applied by Fulvia Farolfi.

The W feature uncovers Christina's current challenges to sing up way back to the top of the charts and how she's been dealing with the challenges life has brought to her over the past year including messy divorce, flubbed lyrics, falling down on national TV, getting arrested and winding up in the wrong places at the wrong times.  And of course it covers her reign on NBC's reality voice competition which has won huge ratings.

Even though Christina's finalist didn't win the competition, the pop idol's presence on the show has definitely helped her career and image in many ways.

How To Hairstyle

While it's most likely Christina's crimped long tresses were part of fusion extensions, a lace front wig or both, it's possible to recreate her long crimped hair on your own natural hair, extensions or wig.  The key to re-creating Christina's hairstyle would be to separate newly cleansed, conditioned and 100% dry strands into 2 inch sections.

Use a crimping iron and work around the head crimping each section.  After each section is crimped clip it to one side to cool.  Once entire head is crimped use fingers to lightly arrange.  Finish with a spritz of shine enhancing hairspray or 1-2 drops of shine serum massaged into the palms of the hands and lightly brushed over the top of the look.

Summary

Christina  Aguilera told W Magazine she is going to sing her way back on top.  Hopefully that will include a return as a judge for season 2 of NBC's The Voice.
