According to Google news, jury deliberations in a civil lawsuit filed by the family of a 14-year-old girl who suffered second-degree burns on her scalp from applied hair dye will continue at 8:30 a.m. Monday. The girl's identity is protected due to her age.
Jurors have heard testimony for four days about a young girl who decided to dye her hair Katy Perry blue to start her freshman year in high school.
Unfortunately her excitement at going blue turned into a hair nightmare. Her nightmare allegedly occurred at Coconut Point’s Hair Cuttery, according to her attorney, Keith Mitnik.
Her parents, who’ve racked up more than $85,000 in medical expenses as a result of the dye damage, are suing for monetary damages, as well as pain and suffering, alleging Hair Cuttery and its employees were negligent.
In closing arguments Friday, Mitnik said Hair Cuttery employee Victoria Krutky did not read application directions properly.
Attorneys for the defense admitted the colorist did not follow directions, but they said the girl’s trips to the emergency room and skin grafts she had to endure were a result of bad care the girl received after the incident. Please follow us on Twitter at: https://Twitter.com/HairBoutique.
