Edward Carl "Eddie" Cibrian (pronounced sib-ree-ən) was born June 16, 1973 in Burbank, California. He is of Cuban descent.
He is known for his television roles as Cole Deschanel on Sunset Beach, Russell Varon in Invasion, Jesse Cardoza in CSI: Miami, and Jimmy Doherty on Third Watch. He has been in The Young and the Restless, Baywatch Nights and Sunset Beach.
Now he is the lead actor in NBC's new series The Playboy Club which airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Eddie told the media he enjoys the role and wearing the fashions of eras gone by.
He said “When we come on to the set, we get transformed into this world that we’re trying to bring to America, to kind of give a glimpse of what it was inside this Playboy Club. So it’s fun,” he said.
Life As Nick Dalton On The Playboy Club
While his life as Nick Dalton is being examined onscreen, his private life is being played out in the tabloids. Not only is Eddie a newlywed, his wife is Country singer and TV star LeAnn Rimes. His ex-wife is Brandi Glanville who is the newest member of Bravo/TV's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
While Eddie was originally in the spotlight for his steamy affair with Rimes while still married to Glanville, now he's in the spotlight for the stick figure of his new wife, LeAnn. Shortly after going public with Rimes, on August 24, 2009, Cibrian filed for divorce from Glanville citing irreconcilable differences.
On June 11, 2010, Cibrian issued a statement to E! Online asking his ex-wife to stop talking about his affair with Rimes, saying: "I can't change the past and I'm truly sorry that people got hurt along the way but not everything reported in the media is reality and continuing to rehash things publicly only makes it more difficult for everyone to heal. I hope for the sake of our children we can all move forward and heal privately. I wish their mother nothing but the best."
Cibrian and Glanville's divorce was finalized on September 30, 2010. On December 27, 2010, it was announced that Rimes and Cibrian were engaged. The couple wed on April 22, 2011 at a private home in California.
Media Criticism Of LeAnn Rimes
Now Eddie has issues with all the criticism of his new wife and her shockingly thin figure. He told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Monday’s "Access Hollywood Live" that “It bothers me because, obviously, I know she’s healthy. She eats more than I do sometimes.”
Eddie said “She’s just a very [conscientious] eater, as far as what she eats. She eats pretty healthy, but she works out pretty hard too and she actually takes pride in the way she looks and it’s a shame that people will jump on the bandwagon just because she is fit. And she’s far from unhealthy.”
It's All Due To Bad Angles
Eddie said his country superstar wife compliments her eating routine with a lot of physical activity. “She works out like crazy. She works out hard. She boxes. She trains,” he said. The actor said some of the photos that have surfaced of his wife, have been the odd photo of the bunch – the one that shows her looking slimmer than the rest.
“Whenever you get a picture taken of you, there’s always an angle that looks unflattering for anybody and it’s unfair to use those pictures as the basis of the way that you actually really look,” he said. “She’s in fantastic shape and very healthy and I love the way she looks.”
Meanwhile LeAnn loves Eddie's new role and how he looks as Nick. Eddie said “My wife enjoys the show a lot,” he said. “She comes down to the set quite often.”
