Friday Night Lights star Aimee Teegarden (born October 10, 1989) has gone to the dark side.  With her hair that is.

The formerly baby blonde haired actress was spotted with very dark brunette tresses as she chatted up Oceana executive director Andrew Sharpless as they arrived at the 2011 Oceana SeaChange summer party held at Villa di Songhi on Saturday night (October 1) in Laguna Beach, California.

Aimee has transitioned from the very blonde Julie Taylor of Friday Night Lights to a gradual brunette hue which continues to get darker over time.  She has also ditched her trademark fringe.

Aimee also played Jenny Randall in Scream 4, and Nova Prescott in Disney's Prom.

The 21-year-old actress showcased her darkest tresses yet as she joined Hollywood couple Diane Lane and Josh Brolin who were the night's honorees to benefit OCEANA.  The goal of the evening was to help bring back the sea's bounty for current and future generations.

Aimee was wearing a Jonas Crystal Dress in black from Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet.

She took to Twitter to share her adventures.  She tweeted “On my way to the @Oceana seachange event !! So excited to bring awareness to a great cause :)”

Will Aimee Continue To Go Darker?

The big question to ask is whether or not Aimee will continue to go even darker or will she eventually do an Audrina Patridge and switch back and forth between blonde, brunette and redhead.

Is Aimee going brunette to distance herself from her teen acting roles in Friday Night Lights, Scream 4 and Prom so that she can grab bigger and better acting roles in the future?

Besides showcasing much darker tresses the actress is becoming a fashion trend setter and recently created a media craze when she posed in a bikini.

It will be interesting to see what direction Aimee takes her hair as her acting career unfolds.
