X Factor's Steve Jones May Be Fired

There's lots of rumors floating around that X Factor host (US) Steve Jones will not be coming back for round two of the reality TV talent show.

The British host is allegedly being fired from his job after he failed to win love of the American audiences during the debut season of Simon Cowell's show.

The Daily Mirror reported "There have been mistakes and he just doesn’t seem to have the knack for dealing with contestants."

The Mirror also reported "The executives at Fox have already decided not to renew his contract and so, short of a miracle happening, it is pretty much a done deal that he will not take part next season."

I can agree that Jones seemed almost wooden when interviewing several of the contestants and unlike Ryan Seacrest who seems to genuinely care about the Idol contestants, Jones appears to be cold hearted about their eliminations.

In fact, Jones infamously blurted out "the dream is over" when announcing the elimination of girl group Lakoda Rayne. Member Hayley Orrantia took over the microphone and corrected the host for his off-script verbal stumble, saying the dream was most certainly not ending at that moment.

The elimination of Lakoda Rayne was heart breaking from a number of viewpoints.  Paula Abdul, Simon and the X Factor producers had created the group from individual contestants.  Lakoda Rayne was controversial from the start, but Paula was devastated when they were eliminated.  For Steve to appear flippant at that time was not cool.

"The X Factor" press conference was held at CBS Television City on Monday, December 19 in Los Angeles but it is yet known whether Jones is kicked out. The 34-year-old himself admitted that he has no idea whether he would be rehired. "Fingers crossed, I'd love to come back. [We'll] see what happens," he said earlier this month.

Reportedly Jones has been privately told he finished on the show and reportedly was very distressed to hear the news.

If you set your hair on hot rollers, always wait until the rollers have cooled completely before taking them out of your hair.
