Hair Love From Cameron Diaz
Actress Cameron Diaz was recently on NBC's The Today Show where she was interviewed by anchor Ann Curry and she put her recent hair trauma issues to rest.
The purpose of the interview was to discuss Cameron's role in the new movie What To Expect When You're Expecting.
Ironically both Ann and Cam were wearing vibrant hot pink dresses. Towards the end of the interview as she was wrapping up the chat Ann Curry leaned in towards Cameron and said "and by the way...I love your hair." Ann was referring to the media frenzy that surrounded Cameron's recent short haircut where the actress told the media that she cried when she saw it because it was so short.
Cameron leaned over and said "by the way I love my hair too."
Then the actress said "they've (the media) blown it way out of proportion. She then exclaimed "I love my haircut. It's just, you know, when you have short hair and a little bit counts when it's shorter. My hair was already shorter and then it kinda went a little bit shorter and I wasn't prepared for it. But my girlfriend is the most amazing hairdresser. I love her so much. She did my hair today. Thank you very much. But...So I love my hair."
Ann agreed and said "hair grows." When Cameron said "they've blown it way out of proportion" she was referring to the flurry of headlines which hit on May 3rd which announced that Cameron had cried over her new much short haircut.
What started to big hoopla?
In an interview with Jay Leno, Diaz confessed that when she saw the latest haircut, "I just burst into tears and started crying, and I felt so vulnerable. For a woman to all of a sudden have no hair, oh my god." The blonde beauty reported that she "sobbed and yelled, and her stylist started crying, too."
Long History Of Hair Challenges
The 39 year old actress has had a long history with hair challenges. She once shared about a very painful bleeding scalp from hair extensions applied to her head during filming of The Mask. She also made waves with an array of shocking colors including raven black.
She told Leno about the hair cut experience "there was a little misunderstanding. I said 'Oh I just want a little bit off' ...and it went from here to here (demonstrating with her fingers).
Do It Yourself Hair
Cameron explained to Leno that she did apologize when she calmed down. She said "I ended up writing her a few emails after, the next couple days, assuring her I wasn't going to kill her," Diaz said.
Cameron confessed to Leno that she had been getting Do It Yourself (DIY) treatments on her tresses for many years instead of paying huge amounts at Hollywood salons. She joked: 'I'm in her kitchen often with the cape around my neck, going, 'I hope we're not going to cook after that.''
Obviously Cameron is fine now as she explained to Ann on The Today Show. As Ann Curry said "hair grows". Indeed it does. Please follow us on Twitter at: https://Twitter.com/HairBoutique. I look forward to meeting new people from all walks of Twitter and learning from their Tweets.
