The Hundred-Foot Journey's New York Premiere was recently held at Ziegfeld Theater in New York City.
Producer Oprah Winfrey's hair at the 100 Foot Journey was magnificent. The always-beautifully coiffed Oprah wore her hair big and natural.
Was Oprah's fro a wig, a weave, her own hair, or a combination? I don't know about you, but I don't really care. The Big O looked fiercely fabulous and who cares whether the gorgeous fro was grown on her hair or not?
Oprah Winfrey Looks Amazing In Natural Hairstyles
Although Oprah has worn a dizzying array of hairstyles during her spectacular career which has ranged from acting to her famous TV show and movie producing, I think she looks the most beautiful when she wear her hair natural.
Oprah recently partnered with Steven Spielberg and Juliet Blake to produce the beautiful film, The Hundred-Foot Journey, about a young Indian chef who becomes a three-star chef in Paris. The film is based on the novel so brilliantly written by author Richard C. Morais.
Oprah's Hair On September 2013 Cover Of O Magazine
Although Oprah Winfrey's hair at the 100 Foot Journey premiere was big, it wasn't nearly as big as she wore it on the September 2013 issue of O Magazine.
Since the September 2013 issue was built around hair, Oprah decided to rock a huge fantastic fro on the cover. Of course the lady looked amazing and confident, doesn't she always?
Oprah was definitely wearing a wig for her fabulous September 2013 issue of O. Reportedly Oprah's wig was custom created for her by famed celebrity hairstylist Kim Kimble who is Beyonce's go-to hair guru.
The wig reportedly weighed 3.5 pounds and exploded out around Oprah's scalp and from the edges of a gorgeous head hugging headband.
Have You Ever Balanced 3.5 Pounds Of Hair On Your Head?
Can you even imagine balancing more than 3 pounds of hair on your head? It hurts my scalp to even think about it.
Even though Kim Kimble created the wig, Oprah's long time hairstylist appears to still be creating amazing styles for the Queen of Media behind the scenes.
Andre Walker - Oprah's Long Time Hairstylist
Andre Walker famously sent Oprah a note in 1985 when she was still on AM Chicago, her talk show before The Oprah Show. The note from Andre to Oprah said "I'm dying to get my hands in your hair."
Walker owned a Chicago salon at the time. He told the media "Back then it was just Oprah, one publicist, and one producer."
Walker's ballsy declaration earned him a tryout with Oprah.
Three years later, he was working with Oprah full-time. After decades of constant hair styling, Oprah told her audience, Andre is "why I still have my hair."
Although Oprah no longer has her daily talk show, you can be sure Andre is still on her speed dial when she wants him to get his hands back into her shiny, glorious natural tresses.
Summary - Oprah Winfrey's Hair At The 100 Foot Journey
Oprah Winfrey can always turn heads. Indeed, at the premiere of her recent movie production she looked spectacular. Oprah Winfrey's hair at the 100 foot journey opening wasn't the only wonderful event to behold.
The film, which is truly wonderful, had a successful opening weekend box office of $11 million which surpassed expectations.
Even better, it was the only just-released film that earned an A in audience exit polls.
Since the film's opening it has continued to do very well at the box office. Although not all of the critics loved it, many did and the audiences are certainly enchanted with the beautifully produced film.
