Mindy Kaling's Hot Curls

I have a horrible girl crush on Mindy Kaling (Vera Mindy Chokalingam, born June 24, 1979).  

Imagine my delight when the star of The Mindy Project appeared for a chat on November 26th on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Mindy Kaling's hot curls were on glorious display as she performed a hilarious skit on Jimmy Kimmel with an actor posing as her ex-boyfriend.

Mindy's Short Hair On The Mindy Project

The former Kelly Kapoor from NBC's The Office flirted briefly with short hair on The Mindy Project.  Fans were outspoken against her chopped locks.

Almost immediately afterwards Mindy popped on some long extensions which seemed to pacify her unhappy fans.

Since she joined the celebrity hair extension club, she's been showcasing lots of hot curls and wavy textured hairstyles.

Whether she's wearing long textured extensions or not, Mindy looked spectacular on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Step By Step - HowTo Copy Mindy Kaling's Hot Curls

Although Mindy Kaling wears long extensions, her gorgeous hot curls can be recreated by anyone with shoulder length or longer hair.

1.  Wet wash detangled hair in lukewarm water with the product which works best for your hair type, texture, length and current condition (shampoo, diluted shampoo, water only, conditioner only, combination)

2.  Rinse well.

3.  If appropriate, apply a rinse out conditioner.  Separate conditioned doused hair into individual 2" sections.  Use fingers and/or hair friendly comb to detangle strands working from the ends to the roots.

4.  Once hair is detangled, rinse well, finishing with a cool/cold water blast.

5.  Use fingers to do an accordion style gentle squeeze to remove excess moisture.

6.  Towel blot hair with a towel or t-shirt.

7.  Apply a styling cocktail which may include, but not be limited to, defrisant, mousse and/or styling cream.

8.  Finger pick product completely through the hair.

9.  Blow dry hair using a blow dryer and a round brush to create texture.  After blowing dry each section, roll it around fingers and pin it into place on the scalp.

10.  Once all of the hair is dry if you want more texture, use the FHI Heat Runway IQ Large Rapid Heat Hair Rollers which heat up in 8 seconds.  After the curlers have been allowed to set for up to 30 minutes, unroll.  Let hair cool completely.

11.  Use an oval cushion brush to deconstruct the curls.  Or use fingers to break up the curls instead.

12.  Arrange waves to desired profile. Finish hair with FHI Heat Runway IQ Dry Spray.
