Behind every celebrity hair or color revolution, is a wildly talented team of hairstylists, makeup artists, and fashion stylists.

In the case of Lady Gaga, she depends on her highly trusted creative team.  Gaga's people have been handing her hair, makeup, and fashions for years.

Frederic Aspiras has been the superstar's go-to hair and wig person since 2009.

Aspiras and Gaga work exceptionally well together.

The singer and her hairstylist have engineered some of pop culture's most iconic, influential hairstyles and hair colors.

Along with longtime makeup artist Sarah Tanno, the team tackled Lady Gaga's hair evolution in House of Gucci, currently in theaters.

The House of Gucci, directed y Ridley Scott stars Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, and Al Pacino.

From Two to Multiple Wigs plus an 80's Perm

House of Gucci covers the story of Reggiani and the Gucci family from the '70s to the '90s.

Aspiras pulled out all the stops to age appropriately Gaga over two decades.

The hair and wig stylist dug deeply into Reggiani's life and character evolution.

He started with her first meeting with Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) in 1970 until her famous murder trial in1995.

Not only did Aspiras do tons of research into Reggiani and Gucci's relationship, marriage, and divorce, he studied the hair, makeup, and fashion trends of those years.

The hairstylist wanted to honor both Gaga and Reggiani by creating wigs and hairstyles as accurately as possible.

He confessed to the media that a ton of mousse and wet-setting spray was required for the ten wigs and 50 looks he created.

Lady Gaga Completely Immersed Herself Into Patrizia Reggiani

The team had a huge challenge.

They had to eliminate all traces of Gaga so that she would completely disappear into the persona of Patrizia Reggiani.

Method actress Gaga lived with the character for nine months, on and offset.  Her goal was to become Reggiani.

Aspiras explained that Gaga told him she wanted only to reflect Lady Gucci on screen.

He said though it sounded like an easy task, it wasn't.  It involved many complicated issues and understanding the slightest nuances of both Reggiani and Gaga's behaviors.

When Aspiras fitted her wigs, the superstar told him she wanted them to feel like her Gucci character's natural hair.  The superstar even dyed her own hair dark brown to help her merge even more entirely with Reggiana.

A Bible Of Lady Gucci  Looks

Aspiras and Tanno spent months building a bible to guide their looks that referenced every shade, color, and hairstyle for every single scene of the movie.

The team created a dramatic forensics-type wall of real-life Reggiani looks as their ultimate film hair and makeup map.

Although the movie was shot out of sequence, the Haus of Gaga team could easily pull the hair and makeup they needed with short notice.

No Use Of Prosthetics Or Visual Effects

The other challenge was how to age the actress without using prosthetics or visual effects. "It was all about using makeup techniques," Tanno explains.

Dramatic Aging For Courtroom Appearance

Tanno and Aspiras had to age Gaga's Reggiani rather drastically for the courtroom trial.

By that point, the media was calling her The Black Widow for arranging the murder of her ex-husband.

Reggiani was ashen, downtrodden, and looked like she was living with ghosts.

"We had talked about prosthetics at one point," says Tanno.

After much discussion, the team decided they could just as effectively age her by using makeup.

Tanno lightened Gaga's skin tone and used taupe colors to bring out nasal folds.

She also powered areas of her face to add wrinkles. "I wanted her to look tired and like she had seen a ghost."

Aspiras added, "I put on that big and fluffy backcombed hair."  After the makeup and hair changes, Gaga became 55 years old.

The team was shocked at her transformation.  She was filmed shuffling into court. Aspiras told the media that Gaga had perfected Reggiani's shuffle and walk.

In real life, Patrizia Mauizia received a 26-year prison sentence, eventually leaving prison in 2016 for good behavior.   She still lives in the public eye, although legally, she cannot use the Gucci name.
