Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner Lives Up To Its Stay Put Reputation

It all started recently when I had a complete make-over at the Fresh Boutique in North Park Mall in North Dallas.

After emerging from the mall with perfectly applied eyeliner, shadow and a yummy Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, I felt all shiny and new.  My long lost obsession with cosmetics was reawakened.

Once my skin was all plumped and supremely oxygenated thanks to the amazing talents of Sophia Stavron (972-804-0408) and Karin Herzog, I started playing with my new make-up.  Of course I wasn't satisfied with the single eyeliner I had purchased from Fresh.  Oh no, I wanted to play with a variety of eyeliners.

Digging through my make-up files I found a Beauty Reporter from the March 2006 issue of Allure.  Ranking the five best eyeliners, Revlon ColorStay came in at the top of the list, especially in black.  Although I usually prefer brown or burgundy, I decided to experiment with the black.

Crayon Versus Pencil Eyeliner

After the black Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner arrived from Amazon.com I put it through the paces.  Ironically, the better I became at applying the crayon style self-sharpening roll-up eyeliner, the more I realized I had to work on my shadowing skills to match my great eyeliner, which is a blog for another day.  I also realized that I liked a crayon much better than pencil liners.

The ColorStay waterproof eyeliner which comes in a 1 oz tube ($6.99) is famous for providing extended wear up to 16 hours.  Indeed, once I managed to apply this famously popular eyeliner, it didn't smear, smudge or fade from the time I applied it at 9 am until I removed it at 9 pm the same day.    I love the creamy texture too.

As advertised, it doesn't budge for hours.  In fact, I found it to be a bit of a challenge to remove it.   Ultimately I had to use make-up remover to eliminate it from my eyes.

No Danger Of Raccoon Eyes

I've read various reviews which said the liner can create raccoon eyes on oily skin but I didn't experience this problem since my own skin is medium to slightly dry.

I noticed the eyeliner appears to smear a tiny bit if I place it near the outside of my lids.  I generally don't extend my eyeliner past the edge of my eyes so it's not an issue.

After playing with the Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner for a few weeks I am totally loving it.  It's a great product available at a great price and can be purchased at your favorite drugstore or online from Amazon.com.

With a little practice I have learned to apply it exactly the way I like and it has a cool little sharpener for a finer point.  It's true to its name, it really does stay all day and it makes my eyes pop.   No wonder it made Allure's list of best eyeliners.
