Hair : An Owner's Handbook

by Philip Kingsley, Marcelle D'Argy Smith (Introduction)

Philip Kingsley knows his stuff. Not only is Philip a trichologist, but he has devoted his professional life to helping clients with problem hair.  I   was very impressed with the wealth of great hair information presented in Kingsley's book.

As the book demonstrates, Kingsley has special knowledge of problems with thinning, breaking and balding hair. This book is actually Kingsley's second hair care book. His first, The Complete Hair Book was published in 1979 with some success.

Kingsley strives to present information that will provide the readers of his book with ways to achieve instant gratification in hair care.

With this goal in mind, Kingsley does a great job of starting at the beginning and providing a lot of great hair information.

Kingsley starts with a great overview of what hair really is and provides great details on topics such as everyday care, perilous procedures, hair and ill health, hair care through different life changes such as pregnancy, hair care after 40 and gray hair.

He also covers special topics such as baldness, hair myths, seasonal hair problems and common styling concerns.

There is very little about hair that is not covered in the 150 pages of well packaged information. This book is well worth the purchase price.

I highly recommend this book by a classic hair expert.
