by Patricia Coen, James Wagenvoord
Review Updated 7/12/99

This is Patricia Coen's 2nd great book on braiding. Unfortunately this book was temporarily out of print.  The good news is that as of July 1999 the book is again available.

This is the follow up book to Patricia's first best selling braid book titled Beautiful Braids (see my review).

Patricia wrote this second braiding book alone although all photographs were done by James Wagenvoord.

This second book is designed and written very much like the first book. It has illustrated step-by-step line drawings and instructions. This book contains lots of illustrations, but they are all done in black and white.

The instructions seem fairly clear. I am not sure you can say that it is completely foolproof, but it does offer styles for both the beginner and the advanced braider.

This book includes 10 new styles that were not included in the first book. It adds styles with woven ribbons, and gives instructions for simplified cornrows.

I personally liked the Duchess and Cameo braid patterns.

I strongly recommend this book. It is worth the price many times over.

Enjoy!
