Daring Do's : A History of Extraordinary Hair by Mary Trasko I found this book at a Barnes & Noble. It was the only book they had in stock. I picked it up and lugged it over to a table and looked at all the pages. It was fascinating. I just had to buy the book. It was great. Not only did the book have a full page photo of three of the famous women with hair to the floor, but it had a great combination of photos and illustrations. The book is well written and provides some wonderful facts about woman and their hair throughout the ages. I was fascinated to learn that the Egyptians preferred blondes and therefore blonde wigs were very hot back in ancient times. There was also a discussion about how female hair has had almost a forbidden quality that seems to become even more forbidden and erotic when it is hidden behind veils or bonnets. This is a great book if you are interested in how history impacted women's hair throughout the ages and why certain hair customs were popular. The photos are also great. If you want to see that stunning photo of three women with hair brushing the floor, you will want to purchase this book. I did. Enjoy!
