This was a very popular hairstyle in the late 1950s and involved applying lots of gel to the hair and brushing it up around the front of the hairline as well as in back. It was adopted from African American youth who grew up their hair and gelled it up. It was also known as a flat top.
Daily Hair Tip
When blow drying hair always apply a protective leave in conditioner and hold nozzle at least 6 inches away from your scalp. Dry on lowest, coolest setting for extra protection.
