Term: Twirling Hair

Twirling hair is the processing of rotate or briskly revolving strands around an object, usually a finger or set of fingers. Hair can be twirled while dry or wet. For some people with natural curls, coils or kinks, twirling the hair while wet or damp is a method of setting the texture into a desired shape. It also means to twist or wind around. Some people will twirl one or more strands of hair around their finger as a nervous habit.

Daily Hair Tip
To combat cowlicks apply pomade or setting gel to the spot & blow dry w/ nozzle aimed downwards. Longer hair helps weigh down cowlicks as will tiny barrettes or clips. Pulling hair into a ponytail or braids will tighten down the cowlick. Experiment until you get results.
