Term: Accent

The word accent is often combined with hair or hairstyle.

Hair accent, or hairstyle accents, may refer to distinct details that can be incorporated into many different kinds of hairstyles.
Hair or hairstyle accents may cover everything from chemically applied color accents (created chemically utilizing bleach and/or hair color) to external accents such as hair accessories or hair extensions (clip-in or semi-permanent).
Hair accents can span traditional (add-on hair or accessories) or trendy options (feathers, etc.,)
Hair accents may also include braids created from current hair or add-on braids and/or ponytails

Other accents may incorporate hairstyle features such as bangs (fringes), cut to accent facial features, or the creation of layers to showcase specific hair types and textures.
External hair accents can also include hair styling products that help accentuate specific hair cuts, styles, textures, or lengths

There is no end to the possible use of hair accents.  The only limitation is the imagination.
