Term: Angel Hair

This term which is used to describe a type of pasta refers to tiny little hairs around the hairline that appear to form a halo or "angel hair". There are disputes about what causes angel hair. The majority of professionals believe it occurs when hair is broken off close to the root and new hair is growing in its place. Others believe that a large number of "angel hair" can be an indicator of thyroid malfunction or other medical problems.
