Bun-head is a term of endearment used by and for ballerinas, ballet students and dancers. A ballerina is always required to wear their hair up and away from their necks.

How can you be sure if you are a real bun-head or not? Anyone with hair long enough to wrap into a bun, at one time or another, has thrown their hair up and off their head.

If you only occasionally put your hair up into a bun it doesn’t qualify you are a die hard as a true bun-head.

Listed below are the true qualities of a die-hard, genuine bun-head:

1. A real bun-head is a ballerina, ballet student or retired ballet dancer who learned the ways of hard core bun hair design during long days in dance class.

2. Bun heads always own more hair accessories than the average bun weared. A bun head has a huge collection of bobby pins, rhinestone clips, pony-tail holders, and bun covers in a million different styles, shapes and colors

3. Bun heads prefer their hair up and feel awkward or strange when their hair is allowed to hang loosely down around their shoulders.

4. Bun heads feel unkempt when not wearing their hair neatly shaped up into a bun.

5. Bun heads put their hair up into buns constantly whether dancing or not. Bun heads wear their hair up in buns for work, play, working around the house and often even when sleeping.
