Term: Peek-A-Boo Bob Hair Style

Peek-a-boo Style Bob

This haircut is based on a traditional bob haircut which extends from the end of the ears to the middle or bottom of the chin. It is softened by an asymmetrical fringe which is traditionally cut to break up the lines and bowl shape or the bob cut.

The fringe is cut to be styled with a side or deep side part and is designed to add smooth, clean lines to the overall hairstyle. This haircut which was very popular in 1998 and 1999 but cycles in and out of popularity every few years is called Peek-A-Boo because it creates the effect with the fringe.

The fringe is angled in such a manner as to fall over one eye on one side which hides the eye like Veronica Lake and has that Peek-A-Boo feel to it like when little children put their hands over their eyes to hand their face.

The angled fringe is created like slices of pie wedges which only reveals a small section of the face. The haircut is often amped up with a beautiful base with highlights and low lights interwoven throughout the fringe and along the sides. The overall effect is one of soft and clean lines with beautiful color.

This is a great haircut for someone who wishes to minimize a full face shape, to show off lips or nose or create a sassy sexy look. The haircut can work on all types of face shapes, hair types and textures although it may require some customization.
