IntroductionMy close friends are used to the fact that I have very quirky interests in just about everything in my life. Which explains why HairBoutique.com covers all types of hair for all types of people around the world. Sometimes I get frustrated that I don't have time to cover all the different types of hair that I want to focus on. But give me time. One of these days I will get where I want to be and maybe I will run out of hair to write about. Well probably not - but its nice to consider that concept. I also have very diverse and quirky musical interests. On a given day I might listen to rock, jazz, opera or R&B. Recently I loaded up my Napster play list with the always blazing Sean Paul's dancehall hits and I can't seem to get enough of this brilliant artist's work. I also am fascinated, of course, by his beautifully crafted braids that are always immaculate. His hair is obviously long since his braids cascade down his back. In fact, Sean Paul is almost as famous for his braids as he is for his brilliant rhythms. Sean Paul Henriques was born on January 9, 1973 in Kingston, Jamacia to a famous artist (mother) in Jamaica. According to various interviews that Sean Paul has given, his mother constantly played music while he was growing up and it influenced him deeply leading him ultimately into the biz.
Spinning off from his successful career as a Jamaican dancehall DJ the always tightly braided Sean Paul launched hier current career with the wildly popular BabyGirl in 1999. From that smashing success Sean Paul, who is part Jamacian, part Chinese and Brazilian, released a series of spectacular hits that took the world by storm. Known for his strong writing and mixing genius, Sean Paul was unstoppable, constantly capturing the top positions on the charts for his many hits. Sean Paul is one of the few Jamaican artists to ever achieve massive crossover success in the United States with his various hits including "Gimme the Light", "Get Busy", "Like Glue," and "I'm Still In Love With You". In fact, it was reported on June 8, 2006 that Sean Paul's recent Billboard Hot 100 chart topper Temperature knocked Beenie Mans We Set the Trend from the top of the New York Reggae charts. Based on information received, Temperature's the first song by a Jamaican to top the US pop chart before topping the New York Reggae chart. Usually, songs from Jamaican acts would first become hits in the Caribbean market before crossing over onto the Billboard charts. When a friend asked me why I loved Sean Paul's music so much I explained that it is because it is so diverse and blends so many ingredients of different music genres. It seamlessly (at least in my humble opinion) blends the best of reggae and hip hop with hints of Hindu beats. Sean Paul's exotic good looks and overall image works perfectly with his music. He is famous for his below the shoulder tight braids. The style suits Sean Paul well and has become his signature look. Sean Paul will be busy this summer taking his carefully created braided self on tour with Mariah Carey for the first half of The Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour from August 7th (Tampa, Florida) through September 9th in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Sean will then join Mariah in Canada, making concert tour stops in Toronto on August 13th and Montreal on August 15th.
