Hair Color Talks With Henry Amador

One of the blessings I have experienced during my time with HairBoutique.com has been the opportunity to meet so many talented and committed hairdressers and hair colorists.

Not just the celebrities who only work with the biggest name stars but the hairdressers and hair colorists who work with everyday people, like you and me.

Henry Amador is one of those great hair color guys who is such a joy to work with.  I honestly can't tell you how I met Henry although I can tell you it has been many years ago right around the beginning of HairBoutique.com which was officially in 1997.

If my memory serves me, Henry was recommended to me through my connections with ARTec (which is now owned by L'Oreal).  Henry's contact information was provided to me as a "great hair color" resource.

Indeed, that was an understatement.  When it comes to Henry and hair color, there is no better expert to consult with.

The first time I interviewed Henry I had a limited awareness and knowledge of hair color.  I was blown away during our initial conversation about the depth of his knowledge of hair color and his compassion for his clients.

At the time I first interviewed Henry he was just helping to open a salon in the Fort Lauderdale area for a group of, as he put it, "like minded hair professionals" who were joining together in a new style of hair and beauty salon experience different from the traditional settings.  Henry was the go-to "color" guy for that innovative new group.

I know Henry put his heart and soul into that hair group.  I know this to be true because many times I would hear from him and he would be busy teaching new stylists, putting together photos shoots to demonstrate the work from the group along with his work, and promoting the hair group.

Regardless how busy Henry might be, he was always available to answer emails or phone calls with questions I had about hair color.  He understood my commitment to provide hair consumers with accurate and professional information and he was always willing to help me in my quest.

Transforming A Hair Color Customer To A Social Butterfly

One of the things I remember most about my very first chat with Henry was a story he told me of a client he helped to completely transform by simply changing her hair color.  He told me the story of how he colored her hair with love and attention to detail.

Henry's client loved the new hair color.  She told Henry she felt so pretty with the new color.  After leaving his shop she immediately left to catch a flight.  She was feeling so great about her new look that she uncharacteristically flirted with the pilot netting herself a hot new boyfriend in the process.

Henry made it a point to let me know the young woman was normally not the type to flirt with anyone and was shy in general.  The addition of hair color to her hair gave her a new courage and self confidence to be more outgoing and flirtatious.  His client was having so much fun with her new hair color, meeting a new guy was just an added bonus.

To this day I remember that story when I think about how hair color can have such a profound impact on someone's life.  It's really cool when you can hear a real life story about how hair color can truly change someone's life.

Reconnecting For Updated Hair Color Talks

Although Henry and I have stayed in constant touch over the years, I have very recently reconnected with him to follow up with him on some hair color trends.

Henry has since left the Hair Group he helped to co-found and grow and opened his own eponymous salon in Fort Lauderdale.  Although I have not had the chance to visit Henry's salon in Fort Lauderdale, knowing Henry I have no doubt it is incredible.

Note: Henry's salon is the Henry Amador Salon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - call Henry for an appointment at 954.396.4247.

As a result of our recent chats about hair color I will soon be publishing a series of upcoming blogs about Henry's current work in his salon and his thoughts on hair color.  I hope you will take the time to check them out because when it comes to haircolor Henry rocks.

I can also share with you that when I was having some of my own hair color challenges, Henry was only too happy to help me with information and advice.  Even more noteworthy is the fact that Henry's advice about dealing with gray hair through pre-treatment is one of our all time most popular articles.

I am very grateful to have met Henry and have him in my life as an ongoing expert to help me provide solid information to HairBoutique.com visitors - and blog readers - over the years.

Split ends are a separation of the hair shaft that exposes hair's fragile inner layers. The only real cure for split ends is to have them trimmed.
