The nominees for Best Supporting Actress included Penelope Cruz for Vicky Christina Barcelona, Rosemarie DeWitt - as the big sister in Rachel Got Married, Rosie Perez in The Take, Misty Upham in Frozen River and Deborah Winger as the mother in Rachel Getting Married.
All of the actress nominees for the Best Supporting Actress category looked stunning. Only Misty Upham had her hair worn up in a full sweeping twist.

Rosemarie DeWitt rocked gorgeous full across-the-forehead bangs with her tresses worn long and shiny. Deborah Winger looked stunning with her hair worn full and lush with a hint of waves. Rosie also looked stunning with her hair worn long and sleek.
Penelope Cruz was the Best Actress Award statue. She looked amazing in a short, above the knee, sassy milk chocolate brown dress with lace accents. Her hair was worn long, sleek and bone-bone straight.

She looked delighted as she accepted the award. She told the crown "I don't have a speech. They told me it is important to say what you want and swear a lot." She laughed and said "I am very very happy. It means so much to me. I want to share with the whole cast. This was truly an ensemble movie."
Penelope also went on to "thank Woody for letting me around him. I feel so priviledged: to have worked with him and "spent time with him" and around him. She pointed out that Woody "is the symbol" of these awards. Penelope noted Woody "does whatever he wants." She told a story of Woody making an emergency trip "to the dermatologist" at the very time she "had to kiss Scarlotte" in the movie.
Penelope said Woody "discovered a new freckle" and he left. She had no feelings about it and said "I love him for that" and then he "came back" at which all the tension was gone. Penelope continued "he is a gentleman and himself at all time." The winning actress also thanked all the people who has helped her all the years. She ended the speech with "I dedicate this to my family."
