Anne Hathaway's Sexy Brunette Hair

Beautiful brunette hair color can be some of the hardest hues to create and keep super shiny.  Actresss Anne Hathaway has been rocking her gorgeous brunette tresses all over the Red Carpet for all the different award shows she attended over the past few months.

If you look closely at the image on the side, Anne's brunette hues appear to change subtly from the roots to the ends  The stunning actress rocks a range of brunette hues all in the same hairstyle.

The brunette hues are beautifully layered on top of a rich brunette base with complementary light and dark brunette colors applied in carefully planned stages.

Anne's sexy brunette hair is always very shiny which hints at a final demi-permanent glaze in a clear or neutral brown hue.

It's no surprise that the award winning actress depends on the very best celebrity hairdressers and hair colorists to create her stunning brunette tresses.  Although she visits New York's Ted Gibson salon for her hair cuts and regular maintenance, she visit's Gibsons partner and celeb hair colorist Jason Backe for her cool, multi-tonal brunette color.

I chatted with Jason awhile back on the phone and he shared some tips about Anne's haircolor that you can take to your own professional hair colorists.  I must warn you not to try this at home since creating the multi-dimensional brunette hues Anne Hathaway showcases is a multi-step process left to a pro hair colorist like Jason.

Jason's Color Formula

Jason depends on Wella Koleston Perfect 1/2 5.1 _ 1.2 +20-Volume Developer for creating the rich brunette base and any roots.  He uses Koleston Perfect 1/2 7/1 +1/2 6/91 + 1.9% developer for the midshaft and the ends of the hair.  He processes Anne's hair color for approximately 35 minutes.   A renowned hair colorist like Jason will carefully watch the hair color as it processes.

Note: Please do not attempt this hair coloring recipe alone at home.  This should only be used by a highly skilled professional hair colorist.

Please note that some brunettes may require a shorter or longer processing timeframe depending on a range of factors.  The resulting brunette depends on the natural base color, the porosity of the hair and other unique hair characteristics, which is why you must work with a pro hair colorist that understands how to create gorgeous brunette shades.

Jason also foils along and underneath a center parting with  Wella Blondor plus a 10-Volume Developer to create contrast and shimmer.  The blonde is processed approximately 10-15 minutes to avoid overblonding but still providing subtle highlights.  Jason finishes, like many hair colorists, with a shine enhancing cellophane.  Instead of using a clear cellophane, he combines 1/3 Deep Brunette + 1/3 Pearl Blonde + 1/3 Clear.

To maintain this masterpiece of brunette beauty Jason recommends that Anne have regular professional conditioning treatments using Graham Webb Silk Repair Advanced Therapy Treatments to make sure Anne's strands radiate shiny spendor.

Daily Hair Tip
If you set your hair on hot rollers, always wait until the rollers have cooled completely before taking them out of your hair.
