Hair Accessories Used By Beauty Bandits To Rob Store

Hair bandanas have gone full circle in Sacramento, California where a group of men robbing Chatham Beauty Supply store (4200 block of Norwood Avenue) covered their faces with bandanas which are a common hair accessory worn in a variety of ways.

It is ironic that a beauty supply store would be robbed by men wearing the common and very popular hair accessories.  Both women and men wear bandanas as either loose, rolled or fitted head bands or head scarves.

Unfortunately the bandana bandits as the police tagged them were not harmless.  One man wearing a black beanie cap with a small brim, sometimes worn with the 360 wave hairstyles, carried a small handgun.

The second man was noticed for his long black hair worn in "a fluffy ponytail".   The third man was wearing a black do-rag, s which is also a popular hair accessory with some parts of the population, especially people who wear the 360 Waves hairstyle.

The store has asked that anyone with information on the bandana bandits contact Crime Alert at 916-443-HELP or text in a tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Enter SACTIP followed by the tip information. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

Meanwhile, maybe hair accessories such as do-rags, bandanas and ponytail holders should come with a new warning label.  Or not.
