Sandra Oh - Is Five Emmy Nominations The Charm? Is 2009 Her Year To Win?

Sandra Oh was recently nominated for her 5th Emmy Award (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) for the 2009 Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series for her role as Dr. Cristina Yang on ABC's popular Grey's Anatomy.

Will Sandra Oh finally take home the Emmy?  Or will she again lose to the competition.  It's hard to say since I am surprised Sandra hasn't won by now.

Joining Sandra Oh in the much nominated but never winning category for Oustanding Supporting Actress is Grey's cast mate Chandra Wilson (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) with four nominations.  Chandra plays Dr. Bailey.

Ironically Grey's castmate Katherine Heigl was only nominated for this Emmy award in 2007 and won first time out the gate.  Many fans who love Katherine, Chandra and Sandra were surprised that the statue went to Katherine but both of her castmates were supportive of her win.

Looking back over the past five years Sandra has lost to some heavyweights in her category, besides Katherine Heigl, including Blythe Danner who won twice for her role on Huff and Diane Wiest for InTreatment.  Diane is again nominated in 2009 but Blythe Danner and Katherine Heigl have opened up the playing field.

Listed below are all of the years Sandra was nominated with the winner notated at the top and her competition and their shows.

What do you think?  Will Sandra finally win her much deserved Emmy Award?  Only time will tell.
