Celeb Hairdresser Louise O'Connor: Hair Stylist and Owner of OC61 Salon and Spa

Louise O'Connor: Hair Stylist and Owner of OC61 Salon and Spa

I had the great fortune to interview Louise O'Connor right before she opened her OC61 Salon and Spa in New York City.  She was warm, funny and very charming, not to mention how open she was to sharing about her knowledge of hair.

Louise has earned her reputation as a trend-setting hair stylist and ultimate professional through her extensive experience, easy-going personality and attention to detail.

Her signature styles work with the hair's natural texture for a modern, edgy sophistication that never looks dated or overdone.

Louise has worked with many top celebrities over the years but feels most satisfied when working with her extensive following of regular clients to find each one's individual style.

Louise works extensively with top fashion designers who look to her to craft the hottest hair trends for the season. Louise has led her team of incomparable stylists to create the head-turning looks for Badgley Mischka, Ports 1961 and Joanna Mastroianni.

In addition, she has worked backstage with such fashion royalty as Versace, Gucci, Tuleh, J. Mendel, Nanette Lepore, Oscar de la Renta, Imitation of Christ, Catherine Malandrino and Victoria's Secret, and on special projects with beauty companies such as Living Proof, Barex and L'Oréal.

She's also worked with countless celebrities such as Beyoncé, Elizabeth Rohm, Carmen Electra, Jessica Simpson, Eliza Dushku, Kirsten Dunst and Shannon Doherty, as well as top models such as Coco Rocha and Eugenia Silva.

Always an editor favorite, Louise has been quoted about styling and trends in publications such as Allure, InStyle, Elle, Fitness, Women's Health, Prevention, Town & Country and Health.

She has even been recognized as a top stylist in Allure's prestigious Directory. Louise also has worked on The View, Extra! and David Letterman, and been interviewed on various shows appearing on MTV, VH1, NBC, FOX and CW networks.

In 2004, Louise merged her passion and vision to create a haven where the best hair, skin and body treatments could be found: OC61 Salon and Spa (OC61 is an acronym for "O'Connor" and the salon's prestigious 61st Street location). OC61 Salon and Spa is a chic oasis that merges a state-of-the-art salon with a quietly luxurious atmosphere where Louise and her exceptional staff attend to every detail.
