The actress who has very thick, lush, raven black tresses which she wears below her shoulders, began her acting career on the Australian soap opera Home and Away playing Charlotte Adams from 2001 to 2002.

Stephanie who is 5'5" and known for her gorgeous lips later appeared in Farscape and the SBS comedy Pizza, as well as a number of TV commercials.

In 2007, Jacobsen landed the role of Kendra Shaw in Battlestar Galactica.  Razor, a between-seasons television film of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica TV series.  She also played Sam Tyler's future girlfriend in the original US pilot for Life on Mars.

In 2008 she was cast on the Fox television series Terminator:  The Sarah Connor Chronicles playing Jesse, a Resistance fighter and girlfriend of Derek Reese.    Although she looked basically the same in The Sarah Connor Chronicles as she does now in Melrose Place, her character was quite different.

She also appeared in The Devil's Tomb.   Stephanie is current co-starring on The CW's revamped Melrose Place as medical student Lauren Yung who can't pay her medical school tuition and turns tricks to make the money she needs.

Even though recent changes have been announced including Ashlee Simpson Wentz's future exit from the show, the lovely raven haired Stephanie Jacobsen's role appears to be expanding.

Executive producer Todd Slavkin recently confirmed that a carefree, funny and yet-to-be-cast doctor will cross paths with Stephanie who plays Lauren.  Slavkin also promises that the characters will start to have fun and the murder plotline will be over.

Actor Colin Egglesfield will also be leaving the show which was unexpected.  In fact, Stephanie Jacobsen told the media she was "shocked" by the decision to remove Colin Egglesfield from the show.  Stephanie said "he's (Colin) one of my best friends so I'm extremely sad to see him go," Jacobsen said of the hunkster. "But he's a trouper…He was consoling me today. He said, 'Steph, it's just the business.' "

Stephanie also said the Melrose cast was very close and all hung out together.
