Michael Phelps Secretly Dated Miss California 2010 Nicole Johnson

What is it about Miss California USA?  Of course we had all the drama with the first Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean who stirred up enough controversy to make her more famous than any of the other Miss USA contestants.

Do you remember any of their names besides Carrie?  Didn't think so.

Now there is a new Miss California USA 2010 and already she is stirring up controversy with her recent confession according to the popular site TMZ.com.

Yes, Nicole Johnson, the new Miss California USA 2010 has revealed she had a one year super secret relationships with Playboy Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps.

Michael also was thought  to have secretly dated former solo sex tape star Carrie Prejean who butted heads with gossip king Perez Hilton when she answered his pageant question regarding gay marriage.

According to TMZ, Johnson said, "Now that it is after the fact, I will admit that we were together. We agreed to keep this private because it was the only thing that he could keep private ... we remain close friends."

Hmmm.  How interesting.  Nicole confirmed that indeed she had dated Michael but it was between 2007 and 2008, for about one year.

Meanwhile Michael Phelps has been in the news in 2009 for a wide range of less than flattering reasons ranging from the photo in a British tabloid with Michael using a marijuana pipe, upsetting some of his sponsors and causing many to be upset with his assigned position as a youth role model.  USA Swimming suspended him for three months.

Phelps also adjusting to a ban on the high-performance suits that rocked his sport. Preparing for the Jan. 1, 2010 ban on high-tech suits, the US swimmer wore an old-style suit, making him look much slower against all of his polyurethane-clad competition.

The 14-time Olympic gold medalist will compete in one final swim meet, in 2009, Duel in the Pool on Dec. 18-19 in Manchester, England, before closing out the year.

2010 will bring lots of new challenges for Michael including getting back into the swim with the old style suits, trying to get back in shape, keeping out of the media for any pot use and avoiding controversial romances.  Can he do it?  Only time will tell.
