Yes I love reptiles and snakes. Especially python. However, if you're going to buy a pair of snakeskin shoes, select wisely to guarantee you get the biggest slither for your smackeroos.
Afterall, a well-made pair of snakeskin kicks could very well remain in fashion for quite some time. They may even rotate back in after awhile. Snakeskin is a classic leather for shoes, which is why selecting wisely counts.

Consider the following tips from the fashion and shoe gurus:
1. The size of the scales on the shoes should match the size of the product. The smaller the shoe, the smaller the scale. You will definitely have more options with boots, since they have a much large surface to cover. If you're selecting shoes with just snake accent, this is extremely important.
The smaller the area of coverage, the smaller the scales. A large scale on a small object will just become a big blur.
2. Go with a vegetable all natural dye whenever possible. The reason? The type of tanning chemicals used to cure the skin will impact how hard or soft the skins feel. Chemical dyes are known to harden the skins and lighter vegetable dyes will leave the skin soft. The rule of thumb is that the darker the dye, the harder the surface will feel.
3. When possible go as close to natural as possible. The more natural or lighter the skin, the longer it will last.
4. Spend a few extra bucks to go with a known designer who will put more attention into selecting the highest quality skins and the very best dyes.
5. Select a classic shoe which will remain timeless. You may want to go with a classic Mary Jane and skip the peeptoes which may not pass the test of time. That way your investment and exotic leather covering can be re-worn many times. Also make sure the heels are sturdy for a longer life.
Of course it's also important to only buy shoes that fit perfectly. There's no sense in investing in a gorgeous pair of snakeskin if you can't wear them more than a few times.
