Phyto has always been on the bleeding edge of the latest technologies for creating beautiful hair. With the aging of the Baby Boomers Phyto responded with a fabulous anti-aging shampoo.
Of course anti-aging beauty and hair products are all the rage now. One of the challenges when the market is flooded with new solution based hair or beauty products is trying to determine what is real and what is just marketing spin.
When it comes to Phyto they are always the real deal. I know, I've been using their products since the 1990s and they have never let me or my hair down.

What it is
Active ingredients
As we age, hair often becomes weak and fragile requiring specific care. Phytodensium Anti-Aging Shampoo helps prevent further damage by injecting strength and vitality into aging hair. Gatuline®, age-defense is derived from a carefully selected walnut extract which protects against free radicals and harmful environmental factors.

Progenium, a completely natural active ingredient, allows the scalp to defend itself naturally. Black currant seed oil, rich omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, regenerates hair while birch and horsetail leaf extracts restores minerals to the hair shaft. A botanical protein complex increases the hair's level of resistance and elasticity by forming a protective layer.
A tyrosine derivative helps boost the level of melanin and inhibits the appearance of grey hair. Stimulated and toned, the hair regains its density and vitality. A botanical protecin complex is designed to increase hair's elasticity.
Benefits
I have long naturally wavy hair which is highlighted 3x a year. Even without the highlights my hair is naturally coarse and dry. As a result I need lots of moisture and conditioning treatments to keep my hair super soft, shiny and full of lush texture.

This shampoo does not work for everyone but then no shampoo does. I find it works for me and I believe the Omege 3 and 6 make the difference. However, keep in mind that for every type of hair there will be different end results.
Shampoo Options
I never shampoo my hair with undiluted shampoo. I either dilute my shampoo (DS) with water, do a conditioning only (CO) cleanse or sometimes I just rinse my water and then apply rinse-out conditioner. The same is true with Phytodensium Anti-Aging Shampoo. I dilute it when I use it like I do with all the other shampoo products I rotate through on a regular basis.
Although I let my hair tell me when it needs cleansing and what type to do, I generally only cleanse my hair 2 or 3 times a month with shampoo. I like my shampoo products to be moisturizing, not too heavy but with a good balance of good silicones and color friendliness. Afterall, I want to make sure my shampoo doesn't strip my highlights.
Helpful Hints
One of the best ways to get maximum use out of the Phytodensium is to pre-measure the amount of shampoo you normally use out of the bottle and pour into a clean plastic container that is shower safe.
Since the Phytodensium does not have a special pourer if you open the bottle in the shower there's a danger of overpouring or water from the shower splashing into the bottom. To be safe pour before you shower.
Results
Phytodensium leaves my hair feeling soft, moisturized and refreshed. It also makes my scalp feel fresh. I love the light slightly floral scent which is not too heavy. Phytodensium works great for my natural waves giving them a rich relaxed beachy wave profile. I found Phytodensium provides consistent results which is refreshing.
Sometimes when I try a new shampoo product it works great the first few times, but stops working well after the initial start. I did not find this to be true with Phytodensium.
Although Phytodensium has an SRP of $24 a little bit goes a long way. It lasts even longer if you dilute like I do.
Summary
If you’re looking for a shampoo product which is free of heavy silicones and loosens your natural waves or curls, then it's definitely worth a try.
